In my experience I will say no.This is because with math and science in English we can learn a lot of new term that we don't no in English.
My ex-teacher also said if we learned science in Malay we can't understand like we learned in English because the science term is easy to know when we use English language.
That why I agree with Wan Mohd Syuhairie. I think it's not a problem if math and science is be teach in English.
It's in student heart.If we want to be successful student he or she will know what to do.Learn more English because English is easy and interesting language.

As for me, I agree with the forum that you've post. But don't get me wrong, I do agree that Maths and Science are teach in English.
Why do I agree? I'm the last batch who learn Maths and Science in Malay. And its trouble me abit when I further my study here in UniKL MSI cos although I've learn some of the subject, but still I confuse. Although the phase are same, but when the word are change it make abit harder for me. But luckily, now I can compete with others.
And why do I agree that Maths and Science are teach in English? It is because Maths and Science are knowledge that are amend from time to time. Everyday, lots of paperwork report the result of considerable study under Maths and Science, and usually these report are in English. So it is important to learn Maths and Science in English so that we can compete with others country in Math and Science knowledge.

ok... actually,when i first learning math and science in english. i'm a bit shock. but i can understand what my lecturer are talking infront. in my secondry school,they still teach math and science in english. so im learning maths and science in english at university. studying maths and science have teach us more about english. we learn new word in maths,science. in that case,we can improved our english. people who having problem with english might facing a problem learning maths and science. teaching maths and science in english is the first step made by our government to decreased graduates who are umemployment. this is actually the early exposure for students for the coming years when doing jobs.
Oh! Not at all, in my opinion the science studies and mathematics great help students in improving their mastery is inside English overall its. This is because, students can easily understand the terms that use in math and science. We all already know that, the terms are came from the English language. So, student don't have any problem when learn math and science in English. Besides that, the communication skill among students can be improved. Students will try to use English when they want to ask some simple question either for math or science subject. From that, their confident level to communicate in English will improved. Furthermore, when students want to further their study in oversea, the communication skill is really important. When they have learned from the basic, they have no problem to survive at the oversea. They are ready to face the situation when being taught in English for all subjects because they already face the situation. They have no problem at all when learn all subjects in English. In my opinion, I think having Maths and Science taught in English has alleviate proficiency in English Language. This is because when I learned Maths and Science in English, my English had positively double or triple improved.
I agree with PPSMI project but the way it conducted do not worked so efficiently. That is why there are many people outside hate this project.
I really hope that the government will continue this project for the sake of succession of the future time.

As for me, I think that learning Maths and Science in English helps to improve students’ proficiency in English but not 100% because from my experience, my brothers now who learn Maths and Science in English are quite fluent in pronouncing English verbs but in terms of understanding English verbs, it is very poor.
So, the way of teaching should be renew with new method, because I believe that not all teachers use 100% English in their Maths or Science classes. The policy is there but it needs another mechanism to strengthen the policy.
But back to my own experience, as one of the last batch learn Maths and Science, my Science and Maths teachers thought the subject in English and I enjoy it because it really help me in my English.
