As my opinion I tink learning English and knowing English is a blessing. There are many reasons we can tell such as for job,communication,teaching.
First for job, most of private company even government sector using English to communicate each other, for meeting,for writing report and other things. If we know and understand English it will make us easy for this all. Even for interview also question wiil be asked in English.
Second communication, most of places now such as at cinema,shopping centre,pizza,kfc and at university also using English to communicate. If unknown people want ask something to us also they wiil use English to ask.. did u feel shame went somebody ask question in English and u don’t know to answer? So it bleesing if we know and understand English.
Teaching is a good job. Teaching and learning English is fun and good for our future because we don’t know how,where and what we going be in future. So learning English and understanding it wiil be used for our future. For engineer career and lecturer career also we had to know English first. The refence book also in English. How u wan to read it and understand it if don’t know English. So better learn it because it is a blessing.
for me it is a blessing that i have learned english since standard 1 till now.english is an important nowadays because it is our 2nd language for malaysia.goverment try so hard to make us know about communication in english.i so gratefully because im the 1st batch of learning math and science in english.im feel more comfortable to study those in english since many there many revision books now are in english, and it is useful if i have a chance to study abroad.things around us now more to english such computer,atm machine,fast food etc.so for somebody who didn't learn english how loss are them.

I got to agree with most of the people here which is English is a blessing. And I got to agree with most of the point state by Kesavan from MMT2.
It is true that all the huge sector now a days use English as prior language. This is because English is the second most use language in the world that was stated by Shukeri.
But I got to disagree with one point from Mr. Kay. He clarify that people must feel shame went somebody ask question in English and they don’t know to answer? In this case, if people feel bashful if they don't understand English, they also will feel the same thing when they want to response to the one who ask him/her. At the end of the day, he still the same person who don't know English very well.
As Malay aphorism assert "Malu Bertanya Sesat Jalan" which is mean if we are ashamed of ourselves for don't know English language, then we will go astray.
So, in that case, if there's someone come and inquire us in English language, what we REALLY need to do is, answer it no matter if we have a good or poor English. If we keep on practicing this, then in the future our English will be much better. At the same time, do anxiously learn English. It don't have to be a book. We can watch movies and listen to song as well. As long as it is English, then it will be okay. And of cos, by watching movies and listening to song, it is a very fun and enjoying way of learning as well as a very good hobby.
Hola madam, English is blessing or burden? I am convinced that English is blessing. Why?? In my opinion, English is truly important language as English is the world wide language and widely spoken. For example, we always meet ‘English’ in our daily life whether in communication, listening radio, watching television or others.
Besides that, when we know English, it will be easier to get job. More than 80% factories put ‘English’ as the main language whether in communication, writing report and others. English also could help us when we are having holiday at overseas. What I mean is when we are in Thailand for example, the only language that can we use to communicate is English. I come from FELDA area, and luckily I'm able to getting of best of English. And there are also my friends who have been given the opportunity to further their study oversea. So I don't get it when you said that people from a rural area can't dominate English language. It doesn't matter if you came from a village or a town, English is for everyone. If you are from a town, but still think English is a burden, then at the end of the day, u still can't dominate English. But if you are from a rural place or even a native, but you take English as a blessing thing and really meant it as a business, then you can master, dominate and even talk English smooth and sound great.

Assalamualaikom and very good morning to madam zu and all my friends.. Before we agree, more reasonable if we ask question to ourselves, "can all students to follow this wave?". I want to take an example, one family from the village where both parents do not know the students communicate in English, do they their children will talk with them in English at home? On my view, the English gauze need to start from home. If we do not intend any part children time we watch the draft Sesamee Street, Barney, Teletubbies or indirectly because children we learn the English language through the medium of their likes.

In my opinion, I think English is such a blessing thing. Why I said so? This is because we can use it in our future time. It does not make any harmless to us.
I personally believed, if you think that study English is such a worthless job, you may feel very regret. This is because we had learnt English for 12 years. If we do not use and appreciate it, we had lost these 12 years for studied English.
We should not feel burden with English because in UniKL-MSI also, we should learnt Spanish and Mandarin language as well. Why we learnt these two languages? This is because there are useful in our future life. We also can use it when we work in more several years.
Interest is the main reason to learn English. If you are interested in learning English, burden’s feel would not occur. Some people mindset always think that English is hard to study and score but they forgot that English is very important nowadays survivals. That is why we have to learn it by our heart since in primary school. Do you agree with my idea?

I strongly believe that learning English is a burden to Malay. Instead learning English, better for Malay people to improve their Bahasa Melayu language.I think that many student not understand what actually they had learn, they only memorized what they had learn and not fully understood what they had learn.In July 2002, government had launch a program that students have to learn mathematics and science in English language.Average, 70% of students are not understand about the topic. Sufian did'nt said that EVERY rural area people are stupid in English. Sorry. What really he meant by his wordd is "some" of them, and i agreed with him. Some people from that kinda area were never been thought to speak English so-that-well like you are, who's from Felda right.. So for me rural area people is a bit lack of English skill.

Like I said before this, English is a universal language that we need to learn starting 6 years old until this age, learn English is something interesting actually; because once you can understand the any word in English you will be so proud of yourself. Some people think that learn English is easy and some people not. For me English is not a burdening is because knowing English will help us I many ways. English can help us to communicate with other person. English also can the perception of other people toward us, because before this, if we don’t know anything about English, some people may not respect us. English is helping us in many ways, because according to this new era, we need to become up to date and respond for our environment. Our government also wanted Malaysian become more alert on English language because we need to compete we other people around us .applying for a new job sometime need us to good in English language. This is not because to burden us, but it will be a secret weapon to show that we are different for other people. Nowadays we can see a lot of foreigners entering our country, most of them came here for a job and they will cooperate with our people, then can you imagine if we doesn’t understand their language and same goes with them. Actually, I was weak in English, so for me English is burden... I don't know how to used English skill. But when someone talk English with me, I can understand it and when I want speak, I did not brave enough to communicate back in English. It is because I never study English very well from primary school until now. That's why, I don't know used English skill. But I know English was important to me when I want finds a jobs in the future. Actually, I also worried if I want to get a job, I have to used English but my communication skill is less. So... In my opinion,English is blessing to me.Nowadays,many people like to learning many languages.It is not a waste of time in learning English because in our daily life,English is everywhere as example when we use computer,signboard,advertisement etc..So that,we must learn English to understand and can be useful for us if we understand what they want to tell us or to give us some information.

As my experiance being a worker at McDonald's,English is very important.I have been working there since last year.Now i'm just a part time crew.Everythings are in English there.To communicate with other crew or manager also in English and it is tough whey you are at the counter station.You have to be confident and greet people in English especially to the tourist.They can't understand when you are speak in Malay.So,English is very important...

I strongly believe that learning English is a burden to Malay. Instead learning English, better for Malay people to improve their Bahasa Melayu language. I think that many student do not understand what actually they had learn, they only memorized what they had learn and not fully understood what they had learn. In July 2002, government had launch a program that students have to learn mathematics and science in English language. Average, 70% of students are not understand about the topic. So, graduates nowadays will never master the subject and will not get good job in the future. We can conclude that, English is a burden to students..

in additional, i feel like a new green plant which has just grew up. the reason is because of my level effiency in practicing english has been increased. i have participated more english competitions, speak in english and also wont't hesitate to write short messages for my friends in english. surely i will put more efforts in learning the language because no one cant deny the important of english in daily lives. futhermore, for the sake of our career and bright future, it is a vital for everyone to learn english conscientiously starting from elementary level. thus i urge everybody to apply english in daily conversation not just for granted.

First for job, most of private company even government sector using English to communicate each other, for meeting,for writing report and other things.
If we know and understand English it will make us easy for this all. Even for interview also question wiil be asked in English.
Second communication, most of places now such as at cinema,shopping centre,pizza,kfc and at university also using English to communicate. If unknown people want ask something to us also they wiil use English to ask.. did u feel shame went somebody ask question in English and u don’t know to answer? So it bleesing if we know and understand English.
Teaching is a good job. Teaching and learning English is fun and good for our future because we don’t know how,where and what we going be in future. That is depends, for me it's a bless because i've been trained to speak english since i was a child. So the english is normal thing for me. I got to agree with most of the people here which is English is a blessing. And I got to agree with most of the point state by Kesavan from MMT2.
ReplyDeleteIt is true that all the huge sector now a days use English as prior language. This is because English is the second most use language in the world that was stated by Shukeri.
But I got to disagree with one point from Mr. Kay. He clarify that people must feel shame went somebody ask question in English and they don’t know to answer? In this case, if people feel bashful if they don't understand English, they also will feel the same thing when they want to response to the one who ask him/her. At the end of the day, he still the same person who don't know English very well.
As Malay aphorism assert "Malu Bertanya Sesat Jalan" which is mean if we are ashamed of ourselves for don't know English language, then we will go astray.
So, in that case, if there's someone come and
inquire us in English language, what we REALLY need to do is, answer it no matter if we have a good or poor English. If we keep on practicing this, then in the future our English will be much better. At the same time, do anxiously learn English. It don't have to be a book. We can watch movies and listen to song as well. As long as it is English, then it will be okay. And of cos, by watching movies and listening to song, it is a very fun and enjoying way of learning as well as a very good hobby.

In my opinion, English is truly important language as English is the world wide language and widely spoken. For example, we always meet ‘English’ in our daily life whether in communication, listening radio, watching television or others.
Besides that, when we know English, it will be easier to get job. More than 80% factories put ‘English’ as the main language whether in communication, writing report and others. English also could help us when we are having holiday at overseas. What I mean is when we are in Thailand for example, the only language that can we use to communicate is English.
So, for me English is blessing.

Firstly I want give my opinion in this issue. For me, I think that have a pro and contra in this matter means have advantages and disadvantages.
I think English is burden. For me student especially in rural area, they have the problem;speaking and dominate English lesson.
Furthermore, they doesn't speaking with their parents but at the town, student able to speaking well.
So, I think student in rural area have problem to study. We must thinking about all of the people status.

Dear friend, I'm STRONGLY DISAGREE with your opinion. Who said that all student from a rural area have a problem to dominate English???
I come from FELDA area, and luckily I'm able to getting of best of English. And there are also my friends who have been given the opportunity to further their study oversea.
So I don't get it when you said that people from a rural area can't dominate English language. It doesn't matter if you came from a village or a town, English is for everyone. If you are from a town, but still think English is a burden, then at the end of the day, u still can't dominate English. But if you are from a rural place or even a native, but you take English as a blessing thing and really meant it as a business, then you can master, dominate and even talk English smooth and sound great.

I want to take an example, one family from the village where both parents do not know the students communicate in English, do they their children will talk with them in English at home? On my view, the English gauze need to start from home. If we do not intend any part children time we watch the draft Sesamee Street, Barney, Teletubbies or indirectly because children we learn the English language through the medium of their likes.

I believe that all developed country at the world use English as the language for communicate what ever they do. English also usually use international conference such as OIC, ASEAN conference and etc. All delegate communicate between them use english language.
Besides that, English also important to communicate with tourists that came to our country because they can increase our economy by telling to their family and friends. Indirectly, their arrival will help add more country's economic resources beside introduce country in the eye of the world.

Firstly, i totally disaggree to sufian comment. Today, many facilities and way to learn english. Its depend to student to make the best choice to improve his life. As Malay aphorism assert "Tepuk Dada Tanya Selera". In my opinion, arabic language is more blessing from english. Its is because majority Islam in this world can speak arabic althought they can't understand totally what he say in 'solah'. For example, when we listening al-Quran sound, our heart and soul us is calm. And his sound is very smooth and soft when we spoke. assalamualaikum,.........as a boy who came from a family that did not use english at all, i used to think that english is a burden for me. As a Malaysian who live in a country that our mother tongue is bahasa, i always wonder why we must learn and master the english, but as i growing up,i start to understand that english is a blessing for us. We who master this language will have the power to achieve everything nowadays. English has made this world become smaller, we can communicate with other people from all over the world with this language. English is a language that been accepted all over the world. First of all, I would like to thanks to madam Zuraidah again to give me this opportunity to give some comments in this forum entitled ‘English is blessing or burden?’
In my opinion, I think English is such a blessing thing. Why I said so? This is because we can use it in our future time. It does not make any harmless to us.
I personally believed, if you think that study English is such a worthless job, you may feel very regret. This is because we had learnt English for 12 years. If we do not use and appreciate it, we had lost these 12 years for studied English.
We should not feel burden with English because in UniKL-MSI also, we should learnt Spanish and Mandarin language as well. Why we learnt these two languages? This is because there are useful in our future life. We also can use it when we work in more several years.
Interest is the main reason to learn English. If you are interested in learning English, burden’s feel would not occur. Some people mindset always think that English is hard to study and score but they forgot that English is very important nowadays survivals. That is why we have to learn it by our heart since in primary school. Do you agree with my idea?

I strongly believe that learning English is a burden to Malay. Instead learning English, better for Malay people to improve their Bahasa Melayu language.I think that many student not understand what actually they had learn, they only memorized what they had learn and not fully understood what they had learn.In July 2002, government had launch a program that students have to learn mathematics and science in English language.Average, 70% of students are not understand about the topic. So, graduates nowadays will never master the subject and will not get good job in the future.We can conclude that, English is a burden to students..

I totally agree that english is blessing.Why i say that , this is because we start learn english since we are in standart 1..it will not make us harmful at all but it can give us more knowledge and give us easy to communicate.Although we had learned english it will not effects our mother tongue which is bahasa,i do not understand why some people feel that english is burden ,do you feel that english effects your life when you lerned it?
English is useful for us. it is very useful in the future because as undergraduate students, english is very useful when we want to ask for the job. Most of the interview part will use english as the language .80% of sector in industries will use enlish as their language because in industry they will cooperate with other people from outside so they will take their worker which enable to speak in english..
learning english can make us more knowledgeble.. for me, when i was given a chance i want to learn more language..

Like I said before this, English is a universal language that we need to learn starting 6 years old until this age, learn English is something interesting actually; because once you can understand the any word in English you will be so proud of yourself. Some people think that learn English is easy and some people not. For me English is not a burdening is because knowing English will help us I many ways. English can help us to communicate with other person. English also can the perception of other people toward us, because before this, if we don’t know anything about English, some people may not respect us. English is helping us in many ways, because according to this new era, we need to become up to date and respond for our environment. Our government also wanted Malaysian become more alert on English language because we need to compete we other people around us .applying for a new job sometime need us to good in English language. This is not because to burden us, but it will be a secret weapon to show that we are different for other people. Nowadays we can see a lot of foreigners entering our country, most of them came here for a job and they will cooperate with our people, then can you imagine if we doesn’t understand their language and same goes with them. So the solution is learning English or we need to learn their language, which one is best for us. For me, English is the best solution because I do learn English starting from my kindergarten. If we refer to situation happen today, English is helping in many ways, because we don’t know where we will use that language. Our government also alert with this issues and that is why they starting to introduce the more English subject. For example science and mathematic in English. Actually, I was weak in English, so for me English is burden... I don't know how to used English skill. But when someone talk English with me, I can understand it and when I want speak, I did not brave enough to communicate back in English. It is because I never study English very well from primary school until now. That's why, I don't know used English skill. As my experiance being a worker at McDonald's,English is very important.I have been working there since last year.Now i'm just a part time crew.Everythings are in English there.To communicate with other crew or manager also in English and it is tough whey you are at the counter station.You have to be confident and greet people in English especially to the tourist.They can't understand when you are speak in Malay.So,English is very important...
They are a lot of advantage if you learning English...

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, english is burden because when we are study in university we should concentrate to course that we take. I think enough for student learn this subject in the school from year 1 until form 5. Student must be expert in this subject
Although english is very important, but english also give burden to other subject. For example, math and science must be teaching in english. I think its hard for lecturer to take this challenge.

almost all subject that i learn in Unikl is in English language.
so if I supposing that english is burden and refuse to learn it,that means I reject all the course that i study now..

I strongly believe that learning English is a burden to Malay. Instead learning English, better for Malay people to improve their Bahasa Melayu language. I think that many student do not understand what actually they had learn, they only memorized what they had learn and not fully understood what they had learn. In July 2002, government had launch a program that students have to learn mathematics and science in English language. Average, 70% of students are not understand about the topic. So, graduates nowadays will never master the subject and will not get good job in the future. We can conclude that, English is a burden to students..

ReplyDeletein additional, i feel like a new green plant which has just grew up. the reason is because of my level effiency in practicing english has been increased. i have participated more english competitions, speak in english and also wont't hesitate to write short messages for my friends in english. surely i will put more efforts in learning the language because no one cant deny the important of english in daily lives. futhermore, for the sake of our career and bright future, it is a vital for everyone to learn english conscientiously starting from elementary level. thus i urge everybody to apply english in daily conversation not just for granted.

In fact to learn language English with profounder must also having deep interest,of rather lazy some people prudent of future.Language use English is one burden for his self contrasts with those people have future because we know that in Malaysia language English is a number 2.
ReplyDeleteBut in sector industry English is a first.In my experience working, usually conversation in between leader,supervisor,engineer all in English.so it no burden we to learn its owing to we will using that language one of the days when had entered natural career.learning English we can get more benefit that we can among them in meetings,debate,can communicate with foreigner,was not easy cheated,etc.

I think that english is blessing even my english is so good at this moment..why do i said so??it's because english is just like malay language,..as we speak it several times,we can manage our language to the higher level,..so,who are get it burden,..it just for the lazy people only,..

It is easy for an English language learner to make an embarrassing mistake using these shortened terms. I would recommend focused listening or even confirming with a native speaker before using these common but easily confused terms.

English is blessing,..and my reasons from my writing is because for me english is not harder,..we can find it as easy language because we learn it from we was a little small,..it's not a difficult language to understand compare with other language such as arabian,spanish,mandarin and many more,..
As we learn english from 6 years old,how can we think that english is a burden language,..we must set english as our second language because the whole world used it as a language to communicate with people from other countries,..
The industry also used english to communite with the people in their bussiness,..why people must do the statement that english is burden to us,..?
we can manage our english with speak it every day without shy if people will laugh at you,..
rationally,english is like Bahasa Melayu,..when we practise it every day and every where, with every one we can get our english to a higher level..that's all from me,..

I agree with all comment that posted by other student. I personally believe that English is blessing.Why i said that??? this is because nowadays English is become common international language. As a student we should learn and improve our English because if we want to continue our abroad study we will always use English apart the language that use by the country that we go..Furthermore, as a student after we had finish our study we will looking for a good job and a good company. if we want to work in a good company we should improve our English because all the interview will be done in English.So improve your English.

In my opinion, when we start to learn English, we told that English is burden. WHY???
Because today,world without limited...this is the common word that we use in our glabalisation worldwide..
all the informations in our hand. Internet is the most important sources to get the knowledges about some topics or something happens.
In this situations,most of the knowlegdes are in English.So,that why all the students must understand or experts in English to make the informations are easy to understand.
Besides,if we want share some informations with another person which is cannot understand our mother language,so,we must talk in English.

lets take some example, for those student who abroad their study to oversea they need to master in english language very well, because it will help you in communication.

learning eglish is fun. we can make new friends from other country that use english as their language. english is also important to us in this modern world. to find jobs,we use english in our interview. if we use bahasa,we also can jobs but at a lower spot. the salary also not much. we are about to make a family,so we better think of a great salary to have. that is why english is a blessing for me.

This technological wonder, which was once used by only the richest companies and wealthiest governments, has become part and parcel of almost every individual in a developed or developing country. Due ti this fact, the use of the english languages has catapulted to the pinnacle of languages used in a modern society as it is, ofter all, the choice medium of most computer systems.
That we all know, propogation of news, ideas, and views on the internet are the mostly in the english language. This has also led to the massive increase in new english words which many other languages had to borrow to keep up with the latest devolopments. For example, the word computer, internet and cyber have no equivalent in asian languages, The japanese and malay languages.
The english languages is also used to spread friendship and good will among countries. English has become the most important and effective means of the communication among countries. Even world leaders use english to spread better understanding and friendship among nations.
These are the reasons why i think that english is an important language. Everyone should learn it.
